News about Heath Lees
Anyone who saw the broadcast of “Wagner’s Ring: A Tale Told in Music “recently on SBS will appreciate what a knowledgeable and entertaining presenter The Richard Wagner Society has to introduce the Ring operas in Melbourne this year. Professor Heath Lees will be taking his audience on a journey of exploration beyond the topics covered in these broadcasts when he presents the Pre-opera Presentations at the Melbourne Recital Centre each day before performances in November and December in each of the three cycles.
The RWS is conducting these “Exploring the Ring” presentations to enhance appreciation and enjoyment of the Neil Armfield Opera Australia production in Melbourne. Heath has been granted special permission to use many images from this Ring. Audiences will gain an exclusive insight for he is able to cover the broad themes and specific details that make individual productions of this magnificent work so memorable.
